Research is currently being undertaken into the barriers and enablers of hepatitis C treatment in general practice. Participation involves being interviewed and nominating up to 10 patients with hepatitis C infection, (some treated and some not) for an interview. If you have PenCAT or similar software, the researchers also wish to obtain de-identified practice data from your GP practice software to assess the uptake of hepatitis C testing and treatment. If you can’t provide practice data but are happy to be interviewed and nominate patients for interviews, please still involve your practice in the study.
General practices will be compensated $500 for participating, given the results of the study, and feedback on treatment uptake. The study is being led by A/Prof Linda Selvey and was approved by UQ’s HREC (2017001387).
