These include:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social and Emotional Wellbeing Programs

Brisbane South PHN Commissioned Service Providers

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) and Gallang Place Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation have been commissioned to deliver free and culturally appropriate mental health alcohol and drug treatment services and suicide prevention programs to the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in the Brisbane South PHN region.

IUIH operates through a partnership of community service providers, including the Brisbane Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) and Inala Wangarra to optimise the physical, mental, spiritual and cultural wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Logan City and Inala.

Gallang Place delivers healing services through its existing local centres in Inala, Beenleigh, Beaudesert, Logan and the Bay region in addition to outreach healing services.

For information about the program please contact the relevant services:

Integrated Team Care is provided by teams of Indigenous Health Project Officers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Outreach Workers and Care Coordinators. The teams work in the Brisbane South PHN region, across both mainstream and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary healthcare sectors, to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to:

  • obtain primary health care as required
  • provide care coordination services to eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with chronic condition/s who require coordinated, multidisciplinary care
  • improve access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to culturally appropriate mainstream primary healthcare.

A more comprehensive summary of the Integrated Team Care program is featured on the IUIH website (scroll down to Integrated Team Care).
