- Brisbane South Palliative Care Collaborative, Metro South Hospital and Health Service awarded a National Palliative Care Project grant
- From 1 July, 2023, the national peak body Advance Care Planning Australia will be hosted by Brisbane South Palliative Care Collaborative
The Brisbane South Palliative Care Collaborative (BSPCC), Metro South Health, is excited to announce that it will become the new home of Advance Care Planning Australia (ACPA). ACPA is the national peak body for advance care planning. Previously it has been managed by Austin Health, Victoria.
BSPCC won the recent competitive National Palliative Care Program grant to host ACPA from 1 July 2023 for the next three years. The Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, announced the details of the grant on Friday, 26 May 2023, during National Palliative Care Week.
BSPCC looks forward to further supporting the uptake of advance care planning and encouraging Australians to talk about and plan for their future care. BSPCC is well positioned for this task having successfully developed and implemented the Queensland Statewide Office of Advance Care Planning.
BSPCC acknowledges Austin Health, current and former team members, volunteers and ambassadors who have all contributed to the success of ACPA.
Further information about the transition will be available on the ACPA website in the coming weeks:
