Chairperson, Professor Cindy Shannon, on behalf of the Brisbane South PHN Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mike Bosel to the position of Chief Executive Officer for Brisbane South PHN, commencing Monday 29 July 2019.
Mike Bosel is an experienced senior health care executive officer with experience in working for not-for-profit, publicly listed and private companies both in Australia and the United Kingdom. Over a 30-year career, Mike has overseen the delivery of aged care services (both community based and residential), community mental health services, children and family support services, homelessness outreach initiatives, carer support programs and community health education schemes.
Inspirational leadership is a key part of Mike’s approach along with unfailing enthusiasm, empathetic management and a clear passion for achieving quality outcomes. He is passionate about our core role as a PHN and has a genuine interest in innovation. He has also demonstrated an ability to engage across multiple stakeholder groups and at all levels.
Mike is passionate about providing help and support to the more vulnerable members of our society and aside from his normal day-to-day job has volunteered for a range of charitable organisations that support homelessness, migration assistance and carer support. He has also been active in representative bodies for the care industry.
Mike has an Honours Degree in Business and is currently studying for a Masters in Public Health at the University of Queensland.
The Board would like to thank all staff along with the Interim CEO, Mr Nino Di Marco, for ensuring a smooth transition and that we continued to deliver on our core business during the period of recruiting a new CEO.
