BSPHN WEBINAR – IS YOUR RACF REALLY READY FOR A COVID-19 OUTBREAK? PRACTICE ACTIONS AND SCENARIO TESTING

Registrations are now open for important webinar that will provide:

  • Metro South Hospital COVID-19 outbreak response plans
  • Primary care response in the event of an outbreak
  • Lessons learned from other outbreaks
  • Hear from Metro South Health, CARE-PACT, a visiting GP and an RACF who will present outbreak scenarios
  • Q&A will be available during the panel discussion, time permitting

You will be able to use the latest information and guidelines to review your own emergency response plans and be more prepared in the event of an outbreak of COVID-19 at your facility.

WEBINAR – ASK THE EXPERTS: CARING FOR PEOPLE WITH CVD DURING COVID-19 

Together with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) and NPS MedicineWise, the Heart Foundation is hosting an ‘ask the expert’ style webinar aiming to:

    • Explore the link between COVID-19 and CVD, including the cardiac manifestations of the infection 
    • Highlight key takeaways from recent guidance produced by the Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand relating to the management of CVD during the COVID-19 pandemic 
    • Exchange strategies to stay connected with cardiac patients in the community and support maintenance of their treatment and medication plans 
    • Provide advice on how to leverage recent MBS and medicine related policy changes to support the management of CVD in primary care.

WEBINAR – ONLINE TRAINING – RECOGNISE, RESOND, REFER: A Brisbane South PHN integrated health response to domestic and family violence

Measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 can lead to increased risk for people living in a household affected by domestic and family violence (DFV). To support general practices to respond to DFV during this time, Brisbane South PHN is offering free, RACGP accredited training to learn more about how to support your patients affected by DFV. We encourage whole-of- practice engagement  as it is designed to help the whole practice team to notice subtle clues and patterns that often are only visible in the waiting room or on the telephone.

Online learning

COVID-19 infection control training
The Department of Health has developed a 30-minute online training module for health care workers in all settings. It covers the fundamentals of infection prevention and control for COVID-19. You must register to access the module but the training is available to everyone.
