Brisbane South PHN has created a new and free Community of Practice (CoP) to support health practitioners who work with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) clients or have a keen interest in learning more.
All primary health care professionals and other interested services are invited to join the Multicultural Health CoP to learn with other like-minded practitioners, further develop local referral networks and participate in information sharing to improve the health of CALD patients.
- Engaging with diverse communities in preparing for the NDIS: AMPARO Advocacy will provide an overview of their service and their work providing NDIS information to CALD communities. AMPARO Advocacy defends, protects and promotes the rights and interests of vulnerable people from a non-English speaking background who have a disability
- Case study – navigating a complex refugee client (Centrelink, disability and trauma): Presented by Jatinder Kaur, Mental Health Accredited Social Worker, and Director of JK Diversity Consultants.
Dinner will be provided.
