Initial Assessment and Referral – Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) for Mental Healthcare
Multiple Dates and Sessions Available. Check below.
The IAR-DST is an initiative of the Australian Department of Health. The IAR provides a standardised, evidence-based and objective approach to assist with mental health care recommendations. The IAR assists General Practitioners (GPs) and other clinicians to determine the most appropriate level of care for a person seeking mental health support.
GPs will receive a once-off remuneration payment of $300 (GST excl.)
Brisbane South PHN is now offering training on the effective use of the IAR-DST and how it can be implemented into practice. Training is designed for the health workforce involved in the assessment and referral process including GPs, other clinicians, intake teams and mental health service providers.
Email IAR@bsphn.org.au if you would like to organise in-person training at your practice or if you have any questions.
