Lung disease affects 1 in 4 Australians and has a significant impact on individuals, carers, families and the broader community. There are many things that health professionals can do to support patients their carers and families to manage lung disease. Come along to find out more about lung diseases such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and lung cancer, including evidence-based interventions, resources and programs available for people in the Brisbane South area.
Guest Speaker: Judy Powell, Partnership Manager, Lung Foundation Australia
- Judy has a Master of Public Health and has worked for 20 years in the health sector on health promotion and public health programs. Her employment has been in both the government and non-government sectors, including state health departments, general practice organisations and not-for-profit charities. Judy’s work in the respiratory area has focused on the development of clinical resources and training to support the early identification, diagnosis and management of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
