PrEP has been available on the PBS since April 2018, since then there has been a big decline in HIV notifications among men who have sex with men. Among women the HIV notifications remained the same. In addition, PrEP uptake has been very low in women since PBS listing.

This webinar will focus on HIV PrEP for women. PrEP is an important HIV prevention strategy for women and can be considered in different situation. Topics that will be discussed at this webinar are:

• Why consider PrEP for women

• Effectiveness of PrEP in women

• Effectiveness and safety of PrEP during conception, pregnancy, and breastfeeding

• How to discuss HIV risk and PrEP in a culturally appropriate way
