Head to Health mental health services expanded in Logan and Redlands

Logan and Redlands will gain expanded Head to Health mental health services, after a recent announcement of $107.9 million will boost the service across the state.

Brisbane South PHN welcomes the recent funding announcement to expand Head to Health mental health satellites for adults in Logan and Redlands areas.

‘Head to Health satellites offers in-person mental health service navigation for people who require mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and suicide prevention support,’ explained Keir Leigh, Regional Development Manager, Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Brisbane South PHN.

‘We look forward to working with our Hospital and Health Service partner, Metro South Health, and local stakeholders, to co-design the Logan and Redlands services,’ she added.

The expansion of Head to Health adult mental health services in Brisbane south will complement the existing network of service, to improve access to supports for individuals who are experiencing crisis, or who are experiencing significant mental and/or emotional distress. Head to Health satellites also work to provide immediate, as well as short-to-medium term supports.

‘More funding to expand Head to Health adult mental health services in Logan and Redlands will better connect individuals to other health services in the region,’ said Mrs. Leigh. ‘It will help offer information and advice about mental health, as well as improve service navigation and referral pathways for individuals, carers and loved ones.’

Brisbane South PHN works with Metro South Health and commissioned service agencies to implement Head to Health mental health services in the Brisbane south region.

Head to Health is supported by funding from the Australian Government through Brisbane South PHN.
