Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital opening soon
The new Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital is expected to open Monday 27 May 2024. Located at 59 Levington Road, the satellite hospital is designed to provide convenient access to healthcare without the need to travel to a major hospital for care.
About the Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital
The satellite hospital will offer a range of healthcare services including:
- a minor injury and illness clinic
- kidney dialysis
- cancer day therapy
- outpatient services
- allied health services such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy
- mental health services.

Tour the hospital before it opens
Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital will host a community open day Sunday 19 May 2024. The open day is a chance for members of the public (including health workers) to tour the new satellite hospital, meet the staff and learn about the services it offers.

About the minor injury and illness clinic
Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital's minor injury and illness clinic will operate from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week. It is free for Medicare card holders for walk-in urgent treatment of conditions that aren't life-threatening.
Although minor injury and illness clinic offer free, walk-in care, GPs are still the first point of contact for non-emergency, routine and preventative health care. Should a person not require urgent care, they will be referred on to their nominated GP for further assessment and management.
