Event description

This full day free intensive workshop has been designed by the BSPHN Local Link for staff working in primary health to continue their learnings responding to Domestic and Family Violence, specifically for priority populations groups:

  • First Nations Communities
  • Culturally Diverse patients
  • LGBTQIA= Communities
  • People with Disability

Facilitated by DFV specialists and subject matter experts, this workshop will cover essential learnings in:

  • understanding of experiences of DFV within priority population groups
  • barriers to trauma-informed system supports and safety pathways for survivors
  • nuances of culturally aware and trauma-informed clinical approaches
  • strategies and skills for supporting patients within a primary care scope.
