At Brisbane South PHN, we are dedicated to supporting translational research that improves health outcomes in our region. We collaborate with top research institutions and universities to implement evidence-based practices with significant local impact.
Types of research support
We offer support for various research activities, including:
promotion of research studies, including trials or surveys
partnership on research applications through endorsement letters.
Current research opportunities
Research opportunity: a study to elicit preferences for atrial fibrillation screening in primary care.
The Australian Centre for Health Services Innovation (AusHSI) at Queensland University of
Technology (QUT) is undertaking a study to elicit preferences for atrial fibrillation screening
in primary care. This study has been approved by the Metro North Hospital and Health Service
Human Research Ethics Committee B (HREC/2023/MNHB/100298).
This project is being conducted online via Zoom, Skype, or MS Teams, as participants will be
from all over Australia, and also as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID19. However, face-to-face option can be arranged if required at a convenient location at the
Queensland University of Technology. The purpose of this research project is to create a list
of attributes (characteristics) and their levels which will be used in a survey at a later time, to elicit preferences for atrial fibrillation screening in primary care.
