Important update

MBS items: Chronic Condition Management changes effective 1 July 2025

From Tuesday 1 July 2025, MBS items for Chronic Condition Management are changing, and people registered in MyMedicare will only be eligible to have these items claimed by the practice they are registered with.

Education and training opportunities

Brisbane South PHN Immunisation Catchup 

Join the Metro South Hospital and Health Services (HHS) Public Health Unit for a practical session for practice nurses and vaccine service providers to update your knowledge on planning vaccination catchups and initiating immunisation catchup schedules.

Quality improvement

New online: self-guided quality improvement (QI) activities to support your practice 

Discover our new online range of self-paced QI activities to help your general practice meet accreditation, PIP QI incentive requirements and to support improving patient health outcomes. 

Topics include:  

  • improving vaccination rates for patients with COPD  

  • cardiovascular disease risk assessment and management  

  • diabetes management  

  • cancer screening   

  • data quality and accurate recording of smoking.  

New activities will be added regularly based on feedback and regional health priorities.
