Brisbane South Joint Regional Plan 2025–2030

Together: Shaping Regional Wellbeing

We are proud to launch Together: Shaping Regional Wellbeing 2025–2030 — a Joint Regional Plan developed by Brisbane South PHN and Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services to improve mental health, suicide prevention, and alcohol and other drug (AOD) outcomes in our region.

About the Plan

The Brisbane South Joint Regional Plan (2025–2030) sets a shared direction for creating a more connected, person-centred and place-based approach for mental health, suicide prevention, and alcohol and other drug services in the Brisbane South region through collaborative planning between Brisbane South PHN and Metro South Health, addressing local needs and empowering communities to shape service delivery over the next five years.

Developed in partnership between Brisbane South Primary Health Network (PHN) and Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services, the Plan outlines six key focus areas:

  • Integrated system of care

  • Access to services

  • Inclusion and cultural safety

  • Digital integration and information sharing

  • Workforce sustainability and development

  • Prevention and early intervention

It reflects national and state priorities, including the National Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Agreement, and is built upon the insights and lived experiences of over 300 community members, service providers, and partners from across the region.

How it connects to our internal strategy

This Joint Regional Plan builds on and aligns with Brisbane South PHN’s MHSPAOD Strategy 2024–2027. While the internal strategy outlines our organisation’s direct activities and commissioning priorities, the Joint Plan represents a broader, region-wide vision we’ve co-designed with Metro South Health — shaping how we collaborate across agencies and services over the next five years.

Thank you to our community

We are deeply grateful to the many consumers, carers, community members, people with lived and living experience, service providers and stakeholders who contributed their time, stories and ideas. Your voices have directly shaped this Plan and remain central to its implementation.
