Working with Brisbane South PHN on grants, research and partnership opportunities.
Brisbane South PHN welcomes opportunities to collaborate with member organisations, commissioned providers, researchers, universities and sector partners to improve health outcomes across the Brisbane south region.
To ensure we can consider requests for letters of support, advice, partnership input or formal involvement in grant and research applications fairly and consistently, we ask potential partners to engage with us early and provide clear information about the proposed opportunity.
What we consider
When reviewing requests, Brisbane South PHN will consider whether the opportunity:
aligns with our strategic priorities and regional health needs
supports improved primary care, population health or system integration outcomes
allows enough time for meaningful discussion, internal review and approval
includes a clear role for Brisbane South PHN beyond general endorsement
has clear governance, resourcing and implementation expectations
demonstrates value for the Brisbane South community and primary care sector.
Early engagement is important
Partnerships are most effective when we are involved early enough to help shape the proposed work.
Requests made close to a grant or research submission deadline are unlikely to allow enough time for Brisbane South PHN to assess alignment, provide meaningful input or seek the necessary internal approvals.
As a general guide, requests for formal partnership, detailed advice or letters of support should be made well before submission deadlines and before project design is finalised.
Letters of support
A letter of support is not automatic and will generally only be considered where there has been prior engagement, clear strategic alignment and sufficient time to understand the proposed work.
Brisbane South PHN may be unable to provide a letter of support where:
the request is received at short notice
the opportunity does not align with our strategic priorities
the requested role is unclear
there has been no prior collaboration or discussion
the request would require input that cannot be resourced within the available timeframe.
Our position
Brisbane South PHN prioritises partnership opportunities where there has been early engagement, clear strategic alignment and a shared understanding of roles and contributions.
While organisations may progress applications independently, requests for formal involvement are more likely to be considered where there has been sufficient time to explore meaningful contribution and organisational fit.
Where we are unable to support a specific application, we may still welcome future conversations about areas of shared interest and potential alignment.

Submission guidelines
To submit a request for partnership on a project initiative, please follow the guidance and steps outlined below.
Step 1: Align your project to our local priorities
Brisbane South PHN will review opportunities to collaborate on projects that align with current organisational priorities identified in our regional Health Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan.
Select a local priority that matches your project from the list below. Click on a priority below to send your request to our team:
Primary Health (including chronic disease, primary health workforce, digital health, health reform and integration)
Please note: Brisbane South PHN will not generally consider requests which are only for patient recruitment and do not have a health professional audience.
Step 2: Download and complete the form
Attach a completed Partnership Opportunities Request Form to your email enquiry.
Step 3: Submit your request
Select the relevant topic link from the priorities list in step 1 to email your request to our team. Ensure all relevant documentation, including the completed Partnership Request Form, is attached. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
Response times
We aim to respond to your request within 4 weeks. For urgent inquiries, please specify your deadline in the email and mark it as 'high importance'. We will try to accommodate your needs.
Special notes
Survey or study promotions require at least 7 days' notice.
Letters of support require a longer notice period and are prioritised when a Brisbane South PHN contact is identified. Unsolicited requests will not be prioritised.
