Brisbane South PHN invites your practice to take part in Heart Week (4 to 10 May 2026) and help spark important conversations about heart health with patients.
Building on the PHASES Project (Preventing Heart Attack and Stroke Events through Surveillance), national Heart Week is a chance to further promote cardiovascular risk awareness and prevention. Join our Heart Health Hub Challenge by transforming your waiting room with heart-themed displays—think red decorations, posters, and heart health resources.

Mater eConsultant platform transition starts 31 March 2026
Queensland eConsultant service is transitioning from Medical Objects platform to the Consultmed portal from Tuesday 31 March 2026.
General practitioners (GPs) can use eConsultant to access specialist advice regarding dermatology, endocrinology, cardiology, haematology, geriatric medicine, immunology, infectious diseases, nephrology, neurology, obstetric medicine, paediatric dermatology, and respiratory and sleep medicine.
Consultmed integrates with both Best Practice and Medical Director practice management systems. See tips for getting started with Consultmed on the Mater Queensland eConsultant webpage.
Mater recommends practice managers create a Consultmed account and complete the setup, which then allows all GPs in a practice to access the platform. Or, GPs can log on to www.consultmed.co and set up a free account.
Consultmed are providing additional assistance this month to help register all Queensland GPs onto the new platform as soon as possible. Contact Dr Dan Jeffrey from Consultmed for assistance via [email protected].
MyMedicare update
MyMedicare strengthens continuity of care with a patient’s regular practice, while still allowing patients to attend any practice for care when needed.
What practices need to know
Participating in MyMedicare does not limit where a patient can go for immediate or unplanned care.
For ongoing and planned care, such as chronic condition management plans and reviews, patients should attend the practice they are registered with under MyMedicare, to support continuity and coordinated care.
Practices can continue to see any patient for care, regardless of whether they are registered in MyMedicare.
What patients need to know
Patients can seek urgent or same-day care anywhere, MyMedicare strengthens continuity of care by supporting patients to return to their regular practice for ongoing and planned care.
Patients may need to attend their MyMedicare registered practice for chronic condition management, care plans and reviews.
