Join the National Intellectual Disability Clinician Network
The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health (the Centre) is working to co-develop, establish and support a National Intellectual Disability Clinician Network (the Network). The Centre is now seeking expressions of interest to join the Network.
General Practitioners (GPs), Practice Nurses and trainees who have an interest in the health of people with intellectual disability and/or work with people with intellectual disability can submit an expression of interest through this short survey form.
Please submit your expression of interest before Monday 10 February 2025.
About the National Intellectual Disability Clinician Network (The Network)
The Network will provide a forum for clinicians and trainees (including GPs and Practice Nurses) to:
share knowledge and best clinical practices and models of care
have multidisciplinary discussions of complex issues affecting clinical practice
co-host webinars and podcasts on clinical and capacity building issues.
About the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health (The Centre)
The Centre was launched in October 2023 to ensure people with intellectual disability have improved access to quality, timely and comprehensive health care. It is funded by the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care as part of the National Roadmap for Improving the Health of People with Intellectual Disability.
The Centre is a group of 9 organisations led by the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and is further supported by collaborating organisations including, Primary Health Networks (PHNs), state health departments, universities, peak and regulatory bodies, First Nations community-controlled organisations and local health districts.
People with intellectual disability are directly involved in creating and running the Centre. People with intellectual disability are:
members and co-chair of the Centre's national council
members of the Centre's other governance bodies
have other jobs working for the Centre.
