Changes to the National Immunisation Program (NIP) pneumococcal vaccine schedule

From 1 September 2025, changes to the National Immunisation Program (NIP) pneumococcal vaccine schedule have been introduced. Prevenar 20 has replaced both Prevenar 13 and Pneumovax 23 on the childhood and adolescent immunisation schedule. Prevenar 20 is now the only funded pneumococcal vaccine for all individuals under 18 years of age. The adult pneumococcal vaccine schedule remains unchanged.
