Important updates 

Keep your accreditation details up to date in PRODA to avoid impacts to MyMedicare and other programs 

To avoid interruptions to MyMedicare eligibility, please ensure your accreditation details are current in the Organisation Register in PRODA.

Lung Foundation: New helpline 

Lung Foundation Australia have launched a dedicated helpline, designed to support enquiries about the National Lung Cancer Screening Program for both consumers and health professionals.  

The helpline offers free, confidential guidance from experienced nurses, helping Australians navigate lung cancer screening and take proactive steps toward early diagnosis and better outcomes.  

Free call the helpline on 1800 654 301 (and select option 2). 

Helpline hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm AEST (excluding public holidays)  


Education and training 

Last chance to register — Lung Cancer Screening dinner event 

Brisbane South PHN is extending the invitation to our Lung Cancer Screening Pilot dinner event to all general practices within the region. 

This event will feature 2 expert speakers:

  • Dr Michelle Murphy (Director of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, PA Hospital)

  • Dr Peter Adkins (Brisbane South PHN Clinical Lead).

Attendees will gain clinical insights into patient pathways and lung cancer management within the hospital environment and learn how to identify and engage eligible patients, plus break down barriers to screening within the primary care setting.
