Disaster readiness

Be safe and prepared for disasters in Brisbane south.

Disaster support for health professionals - your guide to disaster management and safety.

Disaster and emergencies are happening more often and having bigger impacts. Government agencies are mainly responsible for responding to disasters and emergency. However, primary care services, like general practices and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), are essential for maintaining healthcare access.

Brisbane South PHN coordinates efforts to support general practices, medical clinics and pharmacies to prepare and respond effectively during disasters and emergencies.

We work with key stakeholders, such as Local Government, Metro South Health Hospital and Health Services and other groups below to support disaster management in our region:

  • Local disaster management groups

  • Local recovery and resilience group
