Event Description
Join us in Brisbane for a free, practical, and interactive session designed for GPs and nurse practitioners working in primary care. Dinner provided!

Together, we’ll explore the vital role you play in preventing HIV transmission and supporting patients to make informed choices about HIV prevention.

  • By the end of this session, you’ll be able to:
  • Describe HIV epidemiology in Australia and the different HIV prevention strategies
  • Provide patient education on the effectiveness and appropriate use of PrEP and nPEP
  • Implement the PrEP Decision-Making Tool to manage patients on PrEP
  • Explain different options for PrEP dosing, including daily and on-demand
  • Identify the prescribing pathways of PrEP within your local jurisdiction
  • The session will also cover common clinical scenarios and offer practical strategies for initiating inclusive, open conversations about HIV risk with your patients.
