Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) Workforce Survey 2025—Drive positive change in primary health care

The Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) has launched the 2025 APNA Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Survey on Monday 15 September.

The survey has been running since 2002, with thousands of nurses and midwives telling APNA and decision-making bodies about their working conditions, concerns, and aspirations. APNA have used the results to support legislative changes, inform consultations and major reviews, support research, and help develop and secure funding for programs that support primary health care nurses at every stage of their careers.

Why the APNA Workforce Survey is so important

The survey remains the only national survey focusing on nurses and midwives working in primary health care settings. Through workforce feedback and this survey, APNA, in collaboration with nurses and midwives have been able change what it's like to work outside the four walls of a hospital for the better.

The annual APNA Workforce Survey supports APNA and PHNs in driving positive change in primary health care, advocating on behalf of the almost 100,000 nurses and midwives working in the sector around Australia.

Participate in the 2025 APNA Workforce Survey today

The survey is open to enrolled and registered nurses, nurse practitioners and midwives working in any primary health care setting.
