Brisbane South PHN welcomes Jesse Flanagan as a new Board Director
Brisbane South PHN is pleased to announce the appointment of Jesse Flanagan as a Board Director on the Brisbane South PHN Board, effective 1 May 2026.
A proud Ngiyampaa man, Jesse brings extensive lived and professional experience across frontline service delivery, research, governance, and executive advisory roles.
Jesse currently serves as a First Nations Outreach Engagement Advisor with Queensland Indigenous Family Violence Legal Service, supporting culturally safe access to services for families navigating complex systems across South East Queensland.
He has previously held senior clinical and specialist roles within Aboriginal community‑controlled organisations, including Lead Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Clinician and Family Violence Specialist, providing him with strong insight into service integration, risk governance, and commissioning challenges. Jesse has also contributed to national First Nations‑led research through The George Institute for Global Health, providing his expertise in evidence‑informed policy and culturally grounded service planning.
His appointment further strengthens Brisbane South PHN’s commitment to equity, culturally safe care, and improved health outcomes for First Nations communities.
