Expressions of interest now open: New Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (Inala area)

The Australian Government is investing in a further 29 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCC) in addition to the 58 clinics already in operation across all states and territories, to deliver a model of care to reduce pressure on hospital emergency departments (EDs). A new Medicare UCC for the Brisbane South PHN region has been announced as part of the government investment.

Medicare UCCs distinguish their services from usual care general practices and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services by providing short term, episodic care for non-life-threatening urgent conditions requiring same day assessment or treatment. Medicare UCCs provide urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries who may have otherwise attended a hospital ED to seek treatment.

Expressions of interest are now open to operate the new Medicare UCC

Brisbane South PHN is now accepting expressions of interest (EOI) for the Medicare UCC in the Inala area and surrounding suburbs. Accredited general practices and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services can submit an EOI by 12pm midday, Monday 5 August 2024.

Before submitting your EOI, you must consider your eligibility against the minimum requirements set out in the Operational Guidance and the designated clinic location.

How to submit an EOI application

  1. Read and complete the EOI application form.

  2. Submit your completed EOI application form to tenders@bsphn.org.au by 12pm midday, Monday 5 August 2024.
