Statewide wins and see what’s next for general practice — a cardiovascular disease (CVD) webinar
As part of the PHASES Project in 2026, it’s been heartening to see general practices in the region make progress in cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention. Participating practices have been able to make improvements to their CVD screening methods, patient recall processes and evidence-based care that better supports patients at risk of heart attack and stroke.
Join the fifth and final webinar in the series to celebrate the achievements made so far in 2026 and hear what’s next for statewide CVD prevention initiatives!
Presented by Professor Kim Greaves, Cardiologist and Epidemiologist, this webinar will highlight statewide achievements, successful practice strategies, digital enablement tools supporting CVD prevention, and upcoming initiatives including a new consumer campaign.

Join Brisbane South PHN’s bowel cancer screening waiting room display challenge for your chance to win!
Decorate your practice waiting room to help promote bowel cancer screening to your patients. Your display can help encourage patients to:
understand the importance of regular bowel screening for early detection
learn how the national bowel screening test works and when to use it.
How to get involved this Bowel Cancer Screening Month
Order free bowel screening resources, such as posters or brochures for your display via the National Bowel Cancer Screening website. Make sure to complete your order by mid-May.
Set up your display in your waiting room for Bowel Cancer Awareness Month (this is the entire month of June 2026).
Send Brisbane South PHN a photo of your display by emailing it to [email protected] by Friday 12 June 2026 to go into the random the draw to win! Please include your name and the name of the practice.
Everyone who enters will be placed into a random draw. Eight winners will be drawn to each receive a $100 gift voucher.
Here’s a fun example from a practice that got creative during a previous bowel cancer screening activity:
Boost your HIV prescribing expertise with ASHM’s HIV s100 Prescriber Course
ASHM is hosting the Queensland HIV s100 Prescriber Course in person, offering practitioners the opportunity to deepen their HIV management skills and gain eligibility to prescribe Section 100 (s100) HIV medications. Across 2 full days, participants will engage in expert-led presentations, practical case studies, and interactive learning designed to consolidate clinical decision‑making in HIV management.
Attendance is free for practitioners residing in Queensland, and upon successful completion of the course and assessment, participants can apply for authority to prescribe s100 drugs for HIV management.
