New process for organisational changes in MyMedicare
Did you know?
If you sell your practice, merge with another practice or change your ABN, you have 7 days to notify Services Australia by uploading the new MO074 form to HPOS. This helps ensure MyMedicare registrations and linked incentive payments can continue without unnecessary disruption.
MyMedicare patient registrations can transfer with a practice following a sale, merger, amalgamation or ABN change, helping reduce administrative burden and support continuity of care.
What practices need to know
Selling your practice?
The new owner has 7 days to notify Services Australia using the new MO074 form. Failure to do so may delay updates to MyMedicare and linked incentive program records.
Moving premises?
If you're relocating but keeping the same ownership and ABN, don't use the MO074 form. Simply update your location through the Organisation Register relocation function.

Survey to support improvements to Real-time Prescription Monitoring (RTPM)
The Australian Digital Health Agency is inviting health practitioners to complete a short survey on Real-time Prescription Monitoring (RTPM). The survey seeks feedback on how RTPM is used in practice, including its integration with clinical workflows and its role in supporting safer prescribing and dispensing decisions.
Feedback will help inform ongoing improvements to RTPM and ensure the system continues to support safer medicines use across Australia.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and is open until 18 September 2026.
About RTPM
RTPM is nationally implemented digital health infrastructure. It provides authorised health practitioners with real-time access to an individual’s prescribing and dispensing history for medicines considered high-risk for potential harm or unsafe use, such as opioids and benzodiazepines. RTPM supports safer clinical decision-making at the point of care.
While RTPM is a national system, each state and territory governs its own variant of the system.

Reviewing performance: COPD Medicines
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is launching ‘Practice Reflections: COPD medicines’, a free initiative designed to support general practitioners (GPs) in optimising the pharmacological management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Practice Reflections are personalised and confidential reports sent directly to general practitioners about their prescribing, diagnostic testing and referral rates in specific clinical areas.
Eligible GPs will receive a personalised and confidential report based on their PBS prescribing data, providing insights into COPD prescribing patterns and highlighting opportunities to align with best-practice guidelines.
The report also includes practical resources to support your practice with quality improvement activities and meeting continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
Personalised reports will be distributed during July 2026.
