Support your patients to stay protected with free vaccination recall activities
In partnership with GoShare, Brisbane South PHN is inviting practices to register for Pneumococcal and/or COVID-19 vaccination recall activities.
Available to practices using MedicalDirector or Best Practice software, these activities offer free SMS credits to identify and recall eligible patients:
aged 70+ for pneumococcal vaccination
aged 75+ for covid-19 vaccination.
To participate, simply submit an expression of interest for the pneumococcal activity and/or covid-19 activity.
GoShare will contact your practice with next steps. It will take around 15 minutes for practice staff to set up.

National changes to patient access of diagnostic imaging reports
As part of the Australian Government’s Modernising My Health Record initiatives, since 5 March 2026, consumers have faster access to diagnostic imaging reports in My Health Record. These changes are intended to:
give your patients earlier visibility of their imaging results
maintain and protect an appropriate time for clinicians to review reports that may require context.
Please note, healthcare providers retain the ability to withhold reports from My Health Record if there is a reasonable concern that uploading the information could negatively impact the consumer’s health, safety, or wellbeing. These decisions should be made in consultation with patients where possible.
New changes as of 5 March 2026
X-ray reports of the extremities (arms and legs) can now be accessed immediately by your patients as soon as they are uploaded to My Health Record.
All other diagnostic imaging report uploads to the My Health Record have a reduced consumer access delay of 5 days, down from the current 7-day delay, including:
computed tomography (CT)
magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
ultrasound
mammography
positron emission tomography (PET)
non-extremity X-rays.

MyMedicare – Updated Privacy Notice
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has updated the MyMedicare Privacy Notice to provide clearer information about how patients’ personal details are handled and protected.
These changes have been created to help patients feel confident that their information is being managed safely, respectfully and transparently. Read the full notice on the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing website.
What does this mean for practices?
Please let your patients know that the Privacy Notice has been updated and is now available on the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing website.
Please reassure them that they do not need to do anything in response to this change.
If your practice has links to the Privacy Notice (such as on your website, onboarding materials or registration workflows), the MyMedicare Privacy Notice will continue to work and automatically display the updated notice.
