Your input can shape the future of dental health: Statewide Oral Health Services Plan 2024-32

Queensland Health has developed a draft Statewide Oral Health Services Plan 2024-32 to strategically plan for future public oral health services. The goal is to ensure a sustainable and high-quality oral health system for eligible Queenslanders so they can maintain healthy mouths, teeth and gums throughout their lives.

With poor oral health affecting quality of life, the ability to eat, speak and socialise, the Plan is a necessary step towards enhancing equitable and accessible oral health care that meets the needs of Queensland’s priority populations.

The Plan outlines key system enabling actions that are needed to establish the direction for the future of the oral health system. An implementation plan will be developed by mid-2024 to address the challenges which influence oral health service delivery across Queensland.

Healthcare providers are invited to provide feedback via the online survey.

Your input into the development of the Plan is important to progressing and implementing the Plan.

Please take the time to read the draft Statewide Oral Health Services Plan 2024-32 and complete the survey before midnight Monday 20 May 2024.

Please share this survey with your colleagues and via your networks.

Once all feedback has been considered, a detailed implementation plan outlining activities over a 10-year period will be developed to support the delivery of the Plan.

There will also be an opportunity for you to provide feedback directly to the project team within the Department of Health via an online consultation session on Thursday 23 May 2024, from 11am to 12 midday.

Register your interest to participate in this session via email to statewide_services@health.qld.gov.au.
