Join the 2026 Paediatric Masterclass for General Practice — 20 free tickets available
The annual Paediatric Masterclass for General Practice is the leading paediatric education event for general practitioners (GPs) and practice nurses in Queensland. This year’s masterclass is taking place on Saturday, 10 October.
The masterclass is a full-day seminar, with practical sessions, that brings together medical experts, GPs and nurses to explore current health issues affecting children.
Brisbane South PHN is covering the cost of registration for 10 GPs and 10 practice nurses to support their participation in ongoing professional development.

Topics covered at the event
The opening plenary, titled ‘The Beige Tsunami,’ will look at restrictive diets in children, including nutrition problems and what GPs may see in practice.
Additional topics covered in the masterclass will include:
preschool-age health
development surveillance
the Healthy Kids Check – what’s changing and what GPs need to know.
Other topics that are still in development and may be included formally as part of the program include:
speech, language and learning concerns, with guidance for clinicians on what to recognise and when to refer to another specialist
child protection, including reporting and supporting children at risk
serious conditions requiring timely diagnosis, such as sepsis, first seizure, and diabetes
preventive health, such as immunisation updates for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), meningococcal B (MenB), etc.

Attend the masterclass for free — eligibility criteria
To be eligible for a subsidised registration to the 2026 masterclass, you will need to:
be a GP or practice nurse working in the Brisbane South PHN region
attend the full-day masterclass on Saturday 10 October 2026
submit a short, written reflection following the event. Brisbane South PHN will provide you with a method of submitting this feedback.
Preference will be given to GPs and nurses who have not previously received a subsidised registration. Free tickets are limited to one GP and one nurse per general practice.

If you meet the eligibility criteria and would like to nominate yourself to attend the Paediatric Masterclass for General Practice 2026, please submit your expression of interest (EOI) online.
EOI submission close Friday 21 August 2026 or when all available registrations have been allocated.
Eligible applicants will receive one registration, allocated in order of EOI submission.
