New! Bulk-billing Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic opens in Oxley
Women* in Brisbane’s south-west area now have improved access to bulk billed specialised general practitioner (GP) care for pelvic pain conditions, endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause, with the opening of a new Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic in Oxley, commissioned by Brisbane South PHN.
The clinic, run through the Blunder Road Oxley Medical and Dental Centre, supports women experiencing symptoms of endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, and perimenopause and menopause, helping them access timely diagnosis, treatment and coordinated care closer to home.
The service is part of the Australian Government’s expansion of endometriosis and pelvic pain clinics nationwide, increasing the total number of clinics to 33, with at least one in each Primary Health Network (PHN) region.
Addressing invited guests gathered at the clinic’s official launch event on Monday 13 April 2026, Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care and Assistant Minister for Women, Rebecca White MP, said the clinic responds to longstanding gaps in care for women.
'Many women experience years of pain before they are diagnosed and treated for endometriosis or pelvic pain conditions. Women deserve better,' Ms White said.
'This Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic in Oxley will make it easier and more affordable for women to get timely specialised care, including for perimenopause and menopause.'

Endometriosis affects an estimated one in 7 Australian women and is associated with an average 7-year delay in diagnosis. Chronic pelvic pain can also be complex and debilitating for women experiencing it, often affecting their ability to fully participate in education, work and family life.
Queensland Senator Corinne Mulholland said the new clinic would improve access to care for women in southern Brisbane and surrounds.
'For too many women, endometriosis and pelvic pain have meant years of suffering without answers. This investment is about changing that and ensuring women are heard, diagnosed, and treated sooner,' Senator Mulholland said.
'This new clinic in Oxley means women in South Brisbane can access specialised, compassionate care closer to home, without the long waits and uncertainty that too often come with these conditions.'

Brisbane South PHN Chief Executive Officer Mike Bosel said commissioning the clinic was a practical step toward improving women’s health outcomes in the region.
'Brisbane South PHN works to make sure local primary health services respond to real community needs, and this new clinic is a strong example of that,' Mr Bosel said.
'Women living with endometriosis or chronic pelvic pain have told us how difficult it can be to access care for these conditions in the community. Locating this service in Oxley and ensuring it offers bulk billing services, reduces barriers and helps women get support earlier.'
Mr Bosel said the clinic operates within an existing general practice and is designed to work alongside patients’ usual GPs and local health providers.
'Care for these conditions is often complex and ongoing,' he said.
'This GP-led Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic supports a more coordinated approach, helping women navigate the health system and feel listened to and supported throughout their care.'
The Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic in Oxley strengthens access to specialised GP care for women’s health services in the region and aims to reduce delays in diagnosis and treatment for conditions that have long been under recognised.
