Paediatric Sepsis Education Package Supports Queensland Clinicians
Primary health clinicians are often the first point of contact a child and their family has with healthcare services when they are unwell. Early recognition and management of sepsis can significantly improve outcomes, making clinician education and awareness essential.
With World Sepsis Day on 13 September, now is an ideal time to explore these resources and help make paediatric sepsis care a core priority across Queensland.
Paediatric Sepsis Education Package
The Queensland Paediatric Sepsis Program has developed the Paediatric Sepsis Education Package to provide practical, accessible and high-quality learning resources that support consistent sepsis care for children across Queensland.
The package includes three core components:
Education Framework: assists educators and health services to implement comprehensive paediatric sepsis education.
e-Learning Modules: develop knowledge and skills to recognise and manage sepsis in children, while providing support to families throughout their care journey.
Education Catalogue: A comprehensive directory of paediatric sepsis education resources available for health professionals and consumers.
Whether you work in general practice, urgent care, community health or another primary care setting, every clinician has an important role in recognising, managing and supporting children with sepsis and their families.

Refreshing your clinical knowledge of sepsis to recognise and consider it in its early stages can greatly improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for children, young people and their families.
