Register for the 2024 National Advance Care Planning Week Virtual Forum

The Statewide Office of Advance Care Planning invites health professionals in Queensland to register for the 2024 National Advance Care Planning (ACP) Week Virtual Forum.

Advance care planning involves informing and educating your patients about their ongoing health care options specific to their needs, then supporting their decision-making. Advance care planning may be general or require specific advice about an Advanced Health Directive, Enduring Power of Attorney, Statement of Choices or forms to revoke these documents.

About the 2024 National Advance Care Planning Week Virtual Forum

The Virtual Forum, held from Monday 18 March to Thursday 21 March, delivers lunchbox education sessions from 12:00pm to 1:00pm each day. All sessions will be live-streamed via Microsoft Teams.

During these sessions, experts will share the latest ACP updates and initiatives to assist your ACP knowledge and practice.

Participants are encouraged to use the forums as a team education opportunity and conversation starter. Gather your colleagues for an informal lunch, listen to the presentations and discuss how you can apply your learnings to your workplace. The information presented during the Virtual Forum is relevant for health professionals and consumers located in Queensland.

Topics include:

  • ACP for First Nations peoples
  • supporting decision-making and ACP for diverse older adults in the community
  • ACP in the LGBTIQ+ community
  • ACP from a multicultural perspective.
