Psychiatrists and mental healthcare professionals working in gender-affirming care are invited to participate in a research study

Psychiatrists, psychiatry registrars and other mental health professionals with experience in gender-affirming care are invited to participate in a research project on gender-affirming care, conducted by the University of Southern Queensland and funded by the Queensland Mental Health Commission.

In partnership with community and clinical collaborators, the project aims to gather data that will contribute to better understanding trans, gender diverse, and non-binary (TGN) peoples’ experiences of gender-affirming healthcare in Queensland.

How to participate in the multi-study investigation of gender-affirming care

As part of this study, psychiatrists and mental healthcare professionals are asked to provide their input on:

  • the factors that support or hinder the delivery of gender-affirming care

  • the journey toward becoming a healthcare professional who provides gender-affirming care.

Participation involves a 30 to 60 minute interview at a day, time and place that suits you (e.g., in person, online, via phone). Participants will receive a $100 gift voucher for their time.

To express your interest in participating, or for more information, please email amy.mullens@unisq.edu.au.
