Upcoming event: LEADS Symposium 2025 — A must-attend for primary care providers
Primary care professionals are invited to attend the Logan Endocrine and Diabetes Service (LEADS) Symposium 2025, a clinical education and networking event designed to equip general practitioners (GPs), practice nurses, nurse practitioners and allied health providers with the latest knowledge and tools in diabetes and endocrine care.
Hosted by LEADS, Queensland’s only recognised Diabetes Centre of Excellence, this event offers a unique opportunity to:

Why attend this symposium?
Around 1.3 million people are hospitalised with diabetes-related conditions every year. As the first point of contact for most patients, primary care providers play a critical role in the early detection, management, and education of patients with diabetes, ensuring many never have to see a hospital.
For primary care providers, providing these services while keeping pace with emerging therapies and models of care can be challenging. This symposium aims to bridge that gap through practical, evidence-based learning while considering local context and clinical realities.

Latest diabetes care updates:
Get up-to-date practice management tips on thyroid disease, osteoporosis and menopause.
Interactive, case-based learning:
Listen to real-world case discussions led by leading endocrinologists and diabetes educators, with opportunities for attendees to engage in Q&A and problem-solving sessions.
Workshops:
Learn about diabetic foot disease and wound care, dietetics and healthy eating and diabetes technology for better patient outcomes.
Professional development:
Attendees will receive a certificate of participation on request which may be used to self-report CPD hours for RACGP, ACRRM and nursing.
