Updates to the Health Provider Portal (HPP): QGov will transition to Queensland Digital Identity
The Health Provider Portal gives healthcare providers access to patient healthcare information from Queensland’s public hospitals.
The Portal is available to healthcare professionals upon logging in with a QGov Digital Identity.
In early 2025 the Queensland Government will be transitioning to a different system used for identification purposes. The current QGov Digital Identity system will be shutting down and replaced with the Queensland Digital Identity (QDI).
Users will need to transition from QGov to a Queensland Digital Identity (QDI) to continue using the Health Provider Portal (HPP).
How to prepare for the transition to a Queensland Digital Identity (QDI)
To transition to the new identification system, you can follow this checklist:

Identify your scenario: Check the scenarios via the QDI website to see which one applies to you.

Check your details: Where applicable, QGov and QDI details should match for a successful merge.

Consolidate accounts: Before the change, close QGov accounts that are no longer in use.

Create your QDI: Get the Digital Licence app to create your QDI. (For more information on creating a QDI, please refer to the 'Create a digital license' section further down in this article.)

Log In with QDI: Future access to Queensland Government online services that formerly used QGov will require QDI login credentials.
Create a digital license
To create a QDI, you will need to download the Digital Licence app to your device:
- iOS – Digital Licence app in the Apple App Store
- Android – Digital Licence app in the Google Play Store.
Once you download the app, signup by creating and securing your QDI and then onboard with the app.
Please note: If you have not used the Digital Licence app ahead of the transition date, the next time you log in to use your account, QDI may request some verifying information from your government-issued identity documents.
