A new booking system for non-emergency patient transport is rolling out
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) will roll out a new online system that healthcare providers can use to book non-emergency transport services for their patients.
The new Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) booking system aims to simplify the process your general practice or aged care facility uses when you request non-emergency transport services for your eligible patients.
The NEPT system will eventually replace the manual paper-based document, emailing, faxing, and calling of 13 12 33.
When will the changes affect your practice? About the Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) booking system rollout
All health facilities in the Metro South Health area will commence the transition to the NEPT system from Monday 1 September 2025.
Please note, general practices, nursing homes and residential aged care facilities should continue to use the existing booking process before the transition to the NEPT system.
