Opportunity for your practice to join a Bowel Cancer Screening Project are now available

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness month. This month, primary health care providers are encouraged to raise awareness about bowel cancer — Australia's second deadliest cancer.

This June, we also invite practices to join our Bowel Cancer Screening Project. The project will take place between July 2024 and June 2025.

About the Bowel Cancer Screening Project

Brisbane South PHN has partnered with The Daffodil Centre and University of Sydney to monitor the effectiveness of the promotion of bowel screening to patients from general practice teams. The Bowel Cancer Screening Project has been developed to:

  1. Understand how practices currently support patients with bowel cancer screening.
  2. Implement bowel cancer screening intervention in practices and track progress to identify effective implementation.
