Brisbane South PHN welcomes Dr Faiza El-Higzi OAM as new Board Director and Community Council Chair
Brisbane South PHN is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Faiza El-Higzi OAM as a Director on the Brisbane South PHN Board and the new Chair of the Brisbane South PHN Community Council, effective 1 February 2025.
With over 25 years of experience in governance, policy development, and advocacy, Faiza brings a deep understanding of strategic leadership, community engagement, and health equity. She has a strong track record of championing diversity and inclusion and is committed to ensuring equitable health outcomes for all communities.
Faiza has held leadership roles across government and non-government sectors, serving as Chair of Radio 4EB, Islamic Relief Australia, and Women of Colour Australia. She is also a Research Fellow in Health Equity at the University of Queensland, where she focuses on addressing systemic health disparities.
Faiza is a respected voice in health policy and community health advocacy. Her leadership will support Brisbane South PHN in delivering person-centred care that reflects the needs of our diverse population.
