Free annual subscription to the Emergency Response Planning Tool (ERPT): Express your interest now

Does your practice have procedures and plans in place to help you respond to the impacts of natural disasters, pandemic diseases or the unexpected absence of clinical staff?

Brisbane South PHN is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from General Practices and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHOs) in Brisbane South PHN region who wish to receive a free an annual subscription to the Emergency Response Planning Tool (ERPT).

Details on how to apply through the EOI process are in the article below.

What is the Emergency Response Planning Tool (ERPT)?

The ERPT is a cloud-based tool which assists general practice to better prepare for, respond to and recover from the impacts of emergencies and disasters. The tool does this by creating an emergency response plan which is individually tailored to your practice, providing a roadmap to recovering from emergencies.

How the Emergency Response Planning Tool (ERPT) benefits your practice

Maintaining an up-to-date emergency plan helps ensure the safety of your staff, a quicker recovery of your practice and reduces the risk of financial loss.

The RACGP Standards for general practices (5th edition; the Standards) require practices to have a contingency plan for adverse and unexpected events, such as natural disasters, pandemic diseases or the sudden, unexpected absence of clinical staff (See Standard 3. Criterion C3.3). The use of the ERPT is one way for general practices to meet Criterion C3.3.

If you have unspent GP grants expiring on 30 June 2024, unspent funds can be used for this subscription.

Apply for the ERPT license

Applications are open until Wednesday 31 July 2024.

There are a limited number of subscriptions, priority will be given to practices who:

  • are not currently subscribed to the ERPT
  • have been impacted by disaster in the last 12 months
  • are committed to disaster preparedness quality improvement in their practice.
