Pneumococcal Reminder Project: Supporting better vaccination rates
Join the free Pneumococcal Reminder Project today and help increase vaccination rates for patients aged 70 years and over while meeting your PIP Quality Improvement (QI) Incentive requirements.
If your practice uses Best Practice or MedicalDirector, Brisbane South PHN can help support your practice to identify patients aged 70 years and over who are eligible for the Prevenar vaccine.
Find out more on the Quality Improvement webpage or submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
How successful has the project been?
Between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025, 35 general practices across the region participated in the free Pneumococcal Reminder Project.
During this period, participating practices sent 11,563 SMS invitations to eligible patients, resulting in 1,387 vaccinations being administered—an average of 59 patients per practice. Collectively, this work has led to 2, 800 additional patients aged 70+ receiving their pneumococcal vaccine.
