General practice case study: Increasing immunisation coverage among First Nations patients
Morningside Family Medical Centre recently completed a quality improvement (QI) project, which focused on increasing immunisation coverage amongst their First Nations population. Working with their QI Coach, the practice refined processes, improved accuracy of patient records, and used AIR data to inform timely follow-up.
In just 2months, 88 of the 91 patients identified as not fully immunised were now up to date. This achievement shows how small and focused activities can lead to big results. Read more about how the practice achieved this, through the case study.
Want to see your practice in the spotlight too? Reach out to the GPQI team via phone (3864 7540) or email [email protected] - we’d love to help you share your wins, big or small!

Is your practice disaster ready?
Access our checklists, reminders and resources to prepare yourself and your patients for disasters and emergencies.
A general practice emergency and disaster plan helps to document your answers for staff to important questions that arise during events. Such as:
How will your practice manage when energy outages and road closures isolate a community?
How prepared are your patients who may live alone, rely on electronic devices (or medicines where advance purchase is difficult), or who rely on the support of carers who do not live with them?
Can your workforce access the practice or switch to online health?
