Your input matters! Consultation on the RACGP Accreditation Standards for General Practices now open

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has released a draft of the Standards for General Practices (sixth edition) and are inviting General Practitioners, Practice Managers, Practice Nurses and other general practice staff to provide feedback.

Your feedback will be used to inform the next draft of the sixth edition which will be released for further consultation in 2025.

Have your say on how general practices are accredited

By submitting your feedback on the draft Standards for General Practice, you can shape the standards that general practices are assessed against for accreditation.

RACGP's updated its technical definition of 'general practice'. This change means more general practices, including non-bricks and mortar practices and solo GPs who may have previously been ineligible, can now become accredited against the standards. Therefore, your feedback is essential in ensuring these standards are relevant, practical, and aligned with the realities of everyday general practice work.

If you would like additional information about general practice accreditation or wish to discuss how Brisbane South PHN could support your practice to achieve accreditation, please contact us at support@bsphn.org.au.

Why submit your feedback on Accreditation Standards for General Practices?

Your feedback will be used to inform the next draft of the sixth edition which will be released for further consultation in 2025.

By providing your feedback on the current draft, you can ensure that your voice is heard on key accreditation issues that affect your practice and patients.

Accreditation is an eligibility requirement of the Practice Incentive Program as well as MyMedicare incentives.
