How to report the hepatitis B antigen on the Australian Immunisation Register

Twinrix and Twinrix Junior vaccines only display as ‘Hepatitis A’ when recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). The hepatitis B antigen is not displayed.

Where an immunisation provider has reported a Twinrix or Twinrix Junior vaccine to the AIR and requires the record to display both hepatitis A and hepatitis B antigens, the provider can update the record by recording a generic hepatitis B vaccine or by contacting the AIR.

Reporting a generic hepatitis B vaccine

Immunisation providers can record a generic hepatitis B vaccine to the AIR either through their software or by recording an encounter on the individual’s AIR record on the AIR site.

Contact the AIR

Providers can send an amendment request to the AIR via HPOS messages or by calling the AIR on 1800 653 809.
