Kidney Action Week 2024: Resources available for you and your patients
This year, Kidney Action Week runs from 11 to 17 May.
You can encourage your patients to take kidney disease seriously by taking the 2-minute online Kidney Health Australia Risk Test.
Even though 3 in 4 Australians are at risk of kidney disease, most people never think about kidney disease until it is too late. Currently, 1.8 million Australian adults have kidney disease and don't even know it.
How? Because kidney disease is silent — you can lose 90% of your kidney function with no symptoms. By that stage, the need for dialysis or a kidney transplant are the only options.
With your help we can get Australians diagnosed early and extend their quality of life. This Kidney Action Week, remind your patients that the best way to slow down kidney disease is to catch it early, before symptoms appear.
