National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day 2024

Every year, 4 August marks National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day. This year’s National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day theme is ‘Strong in Culture, Stronger Together’.

'Strong in Culture, Stronger Together' highlights how connections to culture, family and community are important for every First Nations child. Read more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day: www.snaicc.org.au/our-work/campaigns/childrens-day/.

About the Bullang Jarjums program

Gunya Meta is a non-profit First Nations organisation, run by a board of Logan City community members, employing local First Nations staff. Their Bullang Jarjums program (meaning 'strong children' in Yugambeh language) is a Child Health Pathways program that provides early intervention support for First Nations children in Logan aged zero to 3 years who have been identified as experiencing developmental challenges.

In collaboration with Brisbane South PHN's Thriving and On Track (TOTs) Program, Gunya Meta links children and their parents to free specialist services such as speech pathology, psychology and physiotherapy within a culturally safe playgroup environment.
