NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia (NECA) is a not-for-profit medical charity providing support to health professionals, carers and people living with neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). With 5,550+ Australians diagnosed annually and 25,550+ living with NETs. One Australian person or child is diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer every 90 minutes.

Free support services for your patients with neuroendocrine cancer

NECA provide NET patients and carers with free specialist telephone support services. The telehealth specialist support services include a NET Nurse service, as well as professional counselling and dietitian services.

A NET nurse can speak to patients about a range of topics including:

  • understanding a NET diagnosis
  • managing NET symptoms
  • understanding treatments and their side effects
  • where to find NET specialists
  • support groups and other support services.

Optimal care pathway for people with neuroendocrine tumours

The optimal care pathway for people with neuroendocrine tumours, endorsed by Cancer Australia and Cancer Council, enables health services to:

  • provide optimal care and support people with cancer
  • provide optimal timeframes for delivering evidence-based care
  • assist and inform new health professionals or trainees who are entering the cancer care workforce
  • identify gaps in current cancer services, bring about quality improvement initiatives and improve how services are planned and coordinated.
