About the hospital's Minor Injury and Illness Clinic

The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic at the Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital will operate from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week. It is free for Medicare card holders for walk-in urgent treatment of conditions that aren't life-threatening.

Although the Minor Injury and Illness Clinic offers free, walk-in care, GPs are still the first point of contact for non-urgent, routine and preventative health care. Should a person not require urgent care, they will be referred to their nominated GP for further assessment and management.

Looking for more urgent care options for your patients?

In addition to Minor Illness and Injury Clinics, the Australian Government's Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs) are designed to bridge the gap between general practice (GP) care and hospital emergency departments, helping to reduce patient wait times and ease pressure on hospitals.
