New quality improvement activities for GPs: Cervical Screening Activity and GoShare Pneumococcal Project
Two new quality improvement (QI) activities are now available for general practices. Our dedicated team can support your practice through quality improvement activities. The benefits of participating in QI activities include:
- improved quality, safety and efficiency of your patient care
- the creation of evidence to meet the RACGP standards for accreditation
- helping to meet your PIP QI requirements
- GPs may be able to claim hours for their CPD.
Please see below for further information about each activity.
Cervical Screening Activity
To better understand the cervical screening (CST) history of your patient population, it is important to ensure their results are entered in the cervical screening section of your clinical software.
This 4-week activity encourages practices to focus on updating patients' records with their latest CST results, using the National Cancer Screening Register portal. Upon activity completion, your practice will receive a $100 gift card.

Pneumococcal Activity
Brisbane South PHN have the opportunity to work with GoShare and Pfizer to support general practices in our region who have MedicalDirector or Best Practice installed. Practices will be supported to work with GoShare to conduct a free SMS recall for patients eligible for the Pneumococcal (Prevenar 13) vaccination, funded on the National Immunisation Program (NIP).
The recall program allows an authorised practice staff member to identify patients aged 70 years and over, who are eligible for vaccination. It only takes 15 minutes of a practice staff member’s time to complete this activity.
