Participate in our First Nations Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program
Brisbane South PHN would like to announce upcoming opportunities for practices to engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects. Our First Nations CQI program aims to help practices implement quality improvement (QI) activities to provide better care for your First Nations patients.
In addition to enhancing patient health outcomes, this initiative will provide opportunities to:
- support your practice to meet accreditation and Practice Incentive Program (PIP) QI requirements
- assist you to meet reviewing performance and measuring outcomes requirements as part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for General Practitioners.
About the First Nations Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program
A Brisbane South PHN QI Coordinator will guide your practice through a Model for Improvement (Plan Do Study Act cycle) with a special emphasis on First Nations peoples.
Key project activities include:
- establishing a Quality Improvement team to define skills, experience, knowledge, and viewpoints within your practice team
- improving identification of the First Nations and multicultural patients within your practice by ‘asking the question’
- identifying First Nations patients eligible for immunisations using the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) software and other resources
- cultural safety and awareness training and providing invaluable insights into developing culturally safe practice.
